Purpose of Position: To support the Care Home Manager by providing excellent nursing care in accordance with each individual resident’s care plan.

Responsibilities:
- Ensure appropriate care is given to each resident, in accordance with the Care Plan.
- Work with the Care Home Manager and Deputy Manager to continually review all Care Plans.
- Support residents with special needs relating to mobility and other physical disabilities, using disability aids where appropriate.
- Monitor and control residents’ nutritional and dietary requirements.
- Support residents with eating and drinking as required, preparing light meals and snacks if required, liaising with kitchen staff as necessary.
- Provide nursing care for residents who may be temporarily sick or who require nursing procedures.
- Work with the Care Home Manager and Deputy Manager to order and issue medication, recording and maintaining associated records.
- Assist in the administration of medication where required in accordance with documented procedures.
- Monitor residents’ conditions and report any changes to the Care Home Manager, as necessary.
- Provide palliative/end of life care when required.
- Carry out duties under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and Fire Regulations.
- Attend all necessary job-related training.
- Any other reasonable duties as required.
Selection Criteria:
- Education/Training: Appropriate Nursing Qualification and current registration with NMC.
- Experience: 2+ years Nursing experience; Experience of working with Care/Quality Standards; Full valid clean driving licence.
- Skills/Competence: Communication; good command of both written and verbal English; Leadership/People Management; Planning & Organising/Time Management; Attention to Detail/Quality Focused; Customer Service/Commercial Awareness; Technical; medication administration, wound care, infection control, pressure area care etc.
