We have 2 open positions for a Nursery Manager and a Deputy Manager to join our team here at St James Nursery.

Nursery Manager

  • We are looking for an experienced Nursery Manager to be responsible for the daily smooth and efficient leadership and management of the nursery.
  • Full time £17.63ph, Monday - Friday, Term time.
  • Minimum of 2 years management experience.
  • Level 3+ in Childcare.
  • MUST have good communication skills.
  • 7.40 am - 5.45pm, 37 hours per week.

Person Specification

  • To actively work to promote and market the nursery/school as part of the SLT.
  • To demonstrate effective leadership, representation and liaison both within the company and between the company and other interested or involved persons or bodies.
  • To lead by example, be self-motivated and act in a professional and positive manner, showing initiative and commitment.
  • To play a lead role in the selection and appointment of nursery staff.
  • To promote and positively encourage appropriate behaviour.

Deputy Manager

  • We are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to support the Nursery Manager in the smooth and efficient leadership of the nursery, deputising in their absence, and ensuring high standards of care, education, and compliance with EYFS and regulatory requirements.
  • Full time £14.08ph, Monday - Friday, Term time.
  • 7.40 am - 5.45pm, 37 hours per week.
  • Level 3 in Childcare.

Person Specification

  • Deputise for the Nursery Manager when required.
  • Contribute to the nursery development plan and support monitoring and evaluation of performance.
  • Promote diversity, equal opportunities, and safeguarding policies.
  • Assist in staff recruitment, induction, deployment, and appraisal processes.
  • Support staff development through training, mentoring, and performance management.
  • Help manage nursery budgets, equipment, and resources.
  • Ensure the nursery environment is attractive, safe, and stimulating.
