The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.
To support the manager in planning, implementing and supervising the provision of quality care, in conjunction with the residents. To be involved in the general activities of the Care Home. To maintain a safe and secure environment for the residents, Staff Members and Visitors. To ensure all duties are carried out according to the requirements of the home, CQC and adhering to all policies and procedures. To lead by example by being an exemplary carer. To be organized and be able to prioritize workloads efficiently and effectively. To be on call for emergencies.
Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications:
- Genuine interest in and experience of working with the relevant Client group.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Team player and willingness to participate in Vocational Training Programs.
- Satisfactory DBS check.
- Previous Senior Carer role in Residential Care Home setting.
- Desired: NVQ Level 3 in Care.
Shifts 12 hours, including alternate weekends – 42 hours contract – 7pm to 7am. Must have experience leading a shift in a Senior or Team Lead position.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure the highest possible levels of care are maintained by supporting/assisting Clients, when required, with all aspects of daily living.
- Support training and supervision of junior and new Staff Members in all aspects of their work in the Care home.
- To be a hands-on Carer and to supervise personal care needs of the resident at a level determined by the resident’s Physical and Mental abilities, respecting their dignity and promoting their independence.
- Each client’s specific capabilities and requirements are detailed in their personal care plan. The care plan is a key document associated with the resident’s individual needs and as such all staff are responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the care plans entries and should remain current with the contents therein.
- Provide supervision and attention when needed, ensuring residents retain their comfort, dignity and well-being. This will also include various additional tasks such as washing/drying soiled washing, cleaning, preparing meals, writing reports etc.
- Report on well-being of Clients and liaise with GPs and Support Managers etc.
- Ensure the Care home is always kept clean and tidy and safe and to undertake regular checks of rooms to ensure that it meets the required standards.
- Dispense medication and ensure correct recording of all relevant information relating to medication.
- To be responsible and accountable for Medication administration; ordering; checking-in; returning; changing over of monthly medications and complying with the home’s Medication Policy and Procedures.
- Ensure all holistic assessments are carried out when Clients are admitted to the Care home e.g. covering nutritional and incontinence issues, risk assessment etc.
- Maintain professional knowledge and competence.
- Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required.
- Participate in relevant NVQ training to achieve required qualifications.
- Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Care home.
- Ensure that all information of a confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties.
- Ensure the security of the Care home is always maintained.
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales and the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and associated regulations.
- Such other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time.
