We’ve supported thousands of families across 7 nurseries and 3 out-of-school clubs over the last 30 years — and now we’re looking for an incredible Baby Room Lead to guide our youngest children through their earliest milestones.

WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE SPECIAL?
This isn’t just a room lead role.
You’ll be leading a nurturing, calm, and responsive environment where babies feel safe, secure, and truly cared for. You’ll guide your team to create meaningful routines, support early development, and build strong bonds with both children and their families.
You’ll play a huge part in those "first smiles, first steps, first friendships." — first smiles, first steps, first friendships.
THE PERFECT CANDIDATE WILL:
- Have strong experience working with babies (0–2 years)
- Have previous leadership or senior practitioner experience
- Be passionate about early development and attachment‑led care
- Be calm, nurturing, and highly responsive to children’s needs
- Feel confident leading a team and supporting their development
- Value mindfulness and wellbeing, creating a calm, secure environment
- Have excellent communication skills with parents and team members
- Be organised and confident with planning, routines, and observations
- Hold a relevant childcare qualification (Level 3 or above preferred)
- Have a great sense of humour (essential)
WHAT YOUR TYPICAL DAY WILL LOOK LIKE:
7:30am: Arrive and prepare the baby room for the day
7:45am: Welcome babies and families, supporting smooth, calm transitions
8:30am: Settle babies into their routines with cuddles, play, and connection
9:30am: Sensory play and exploration activities
10:30am: Snack / bottle time and individual care routines
11:30am: Outdoor time or calm exploration (weather dependent )
12:00pm: Lunch time and wind‑down routines
12:30pm: Sleep time / quiet time, supporting individual needs
1:30pm: Afternoon play, sensory activities, and development‑focused interactions
2:30pm: Mindfulness moments – calm connection, stories, music, or soothing play
3:00pm: Support pick‑ups and share updates with parents
4:00pm: Continue care routines and afternoon play
5:00pm: Wind down the room and support end‑of‑day routines
6:15pm: Head home knowing you’ve made a real difference
Every day is guided by the babies — routines are flexible, responsive, and led by their needs.
THE NITTY GRITTY:
You’ll be based in one of our beautiful settings, leading your baby room team.
It’s a calm, caring environment — but also busy, hands‑on, and full of responsibility.
We’re looking for someone who can lead with confidence, warmth, and consistency.
