Zero2Five is delighted to be partnering with a high-quality nursery in Derby, seeking a dedicated Level 3 Qualified Room Leader to become part of a skilled team that provides a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for both children and staff to thrive.
Requirements
- Recent experience working with children aged 6 weeks to 5 years
- Level 3 qualified in Childcare
- Good knowledge of child development, with experience completing observations and records
- Understanding of health and safety requirements in childcare environments
- Strong communication skills with children and adults
- SEN experience
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age‑appropriate activities and educational programmes that reflect each child’s individual needs, interests, and stage of development.
- Observe, assess, and accurately record children’s progress, working closely with parents and guardians to gain a holistic understanding of each child’s development.
- Adapt teaching approaches to support a range of learning styles and abilities, ensuring an inclusive, nurturing, and supportive environment for all children.
- Lead and support a team of nursery practitioners, offering guidance to ensure high‑quality care and learning experiences, including supporting and training new staff and students while clearly communicating room expectations.
- Ensure children requiring additional support have appropriate targets in place, completed by yourself or the team, and reviewed daily to provide consistent and effective support.
- Monitor and promote the health, safety, and emotional well‑being of all children, responding promptly to any concerns and maintaining clear communication with parents and guardians.
- Encourage a positive, collaborative team culture through open communication and a shared commitment to the nursery’s values and ethos.
- Complete all required documentation and maintain accurate records, contributing to the nursery’s administrative duties, and attending room leader meetings while acting on guidance provided.
- Build strong, professional relationships with parents and guardians by providing regular updates on children’s progress and addressing any concerns with care, empathy, and professionalism.
