The Role

As a Community Care Worker, you will provide practical and emotional support to individuals with a range of care needs, helping them maintain their independence while delivering high standards of care in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality personal care, including washing, bathing, dressing, grooming and personal hygiene.
  • Support service users with medication in line with care plans and company procedures.
  • Assist with meal preparation, nutrition and hydration according to individual preferences and dietary requirements.
  • Help with mobility, moving and handling using appropriate equipment safely.
  • Carry out light household duties such as cleaning and laundry.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support, encouraging social interaction and wellbeing.
  • Accompany service users to appointments and within the community where required.
  • Support individuals in maintaining contact with family and friends.
  • Promote independence, dignity, choice and respect at all times.
  • Maintain accurate records and report any changes in a service user's health or wellbeing to the Care Coordinator.
  • Build positive relationships with service users, families and healthcare professionals.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • 0–2 years' experience in a healthcare or care worker role (applications from those new to care are also welcomed if they demonstrate the right values).
  • Caring, compassionate and empathetic nature.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • Experience supporting vulnerable adults.
  • Previous voluntary or community care experience.
  • Knowledge of person-centred care and safeguarding principles.
