Purpose of the role
Ensure the supply of clean laundry throughout the home.
Main responsibilities
- To wash and distribute an adequate supply of laundered linen for the home.
- Washing and ironing linen/residents clothing.
- Conduct simple repairs on items of clothing.
- Sewing on name tapes onto residents clothing so clothes are easily identifiable and not lost.
- To follow Health and Safety procedures when dealing with the disposal of waste, and in laundering throughout the home.
- Attending staff meetings and training sessions when required (some face to face training & also online training).
- Record any breakages or defects to handyperson.
- Follow Infection Prevention and Control Measures.
- Ensuring cleanliness of laundry area and enhanced cleaning schedules are completed regularly throughout the shift.
