To provide high-quality, compassionate, and person-centred care and support to individuals in their own homes, in line with their personalised care plans, the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014, and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) Fundamental Standards.
Areas Covered: Ashford: Hamstreet, Appledore, Kenardington, Shadoxhurst, Bethersden; Tenterden: Woodchurch, High Halden, St Michaels, Rolvenden, Benenden, Sandhurst, Cranbrook, Sissinghurst, Hawkhurst, Biddenden, Wittersham; Maidstone: Staplehurst, Headcorn.
Working Hours: Mornings: 7am - 2pm; Evenings: 4pm - 10pm. You must be available to support at least one evening shift and at least one shift every other weekend as a minimum.
Pay Rates: Unqualified: Weekdays - £13.50 per hour; Weekends - £15.50 per hour. NVQ Care Worker: Weekdays - £14.00 per hour; Weekends - £16.00 per hour. This includes travel time paid at £12.71 per hour and 20p per mile.
Key Responsibilities of the Care & Support Worker:
- Personal Care & Support: Assist Service Users with all physical, personal and social needs including washing, dressing/undressing, shaving, oral care, hair care and toileting needs in a dignified and respectful manner. Support with mobility, including the safe use of equipment and aids. Support and assist with nutritional needs, drinking, and meal preparation according to dietary needs.
- Medication Support: Prompt, assist, or administer prescribed medication/treatment in accordance with company policy, training, and the client’s care plan. Maintain accurate medication records in line with CQC requirements.
- Household & Practical Support: Assist with light domestic tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping. Support with correspondence, appointments, and community activities to promote independence (subject to appropriate car insurance). Support Service Users to maintain contacts with friends, relatives and the local community.
- Record Keeping & Communication: Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential care records and information. Monitor day to day progress including details of treatments, diet etc., and document effective outcomes. Report any concerns, incidents, or safeguarding issues immediately to the appropriate person.
- Safeguarding & Compliance: Follow safeguarding procedures to protect clients from harm or abuse. Work in line with GDPR, Data Protection Act 1998, Health and Safety legislation, infection prevention and control measures, and any other legislation notified to you.
- Professional Conduct: Treat all clients with dignity, respect, and empathy. Maintain professional boundaries and uphold the organisation’s core values.
Enhanced DBS checks, uniform, PPE are paid and provided for by Town and Country Homecare Ltd. All Care Workers are paid £12.71 per hour of training and meetings. Sleep in visits are paid £114.39 per 10pm - 7am shift. Awake & Working nights are paid at 9x the appropriate hourly rate.
Desirable: Previous experience in care or support work. NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care.

Essential Requirements: Must be driving with a Full UK licence and access to your own car. Male and females are welcome. Caring, compassionate, and patient nature. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Willingness to undertake mandatory training (including Care Certificate if not already achieved). Enhanced DBS check.
