Our client, a thriving independent small animal practice in Harlow, is looking to welcome an enthusiastic and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to their friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident vet with at least two years of post‑qualification experience who enjoys a varied caseload, is comfortable with routine surgical procedures including neutering, and is happy undertaking occasional sole charge responsibilities. The successful candidate will be passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and keen to become part of a collaborative, close‑knit team.
The Role
- Full‑time Veterinary Surgeon position
- Salary between £45,000 – £65,000, depending on experience
- Confident with routine surgical procedures, including neutering
- Comfortable with occasional sole charge
- One night of inpatient‑only on‑call on a shared rota (the practice is not a 24‑hour hospital)
- Weekend rota of 1 in 4 Saturdays and 1 in 8 Sundays (6‑hour shifts), with time off in lieu provided
The Practice
You'll be joining a well‑established, independent practice with an exceptional team culture, working alongside:
- 8 Veterinary Surgeons
- 11 Registered Veterinary Nurses
- 12 dedicated support staff
The practice is purpose‑built and extremely well‑equipped, offering everything needed to provide outstanding clinical care, including:
- Two dog wards and a separate spacious cat ward
- Separate dog and cat preparation areas
- Two operating theatres with recovery CASCO kennels
- Dedicated dental suite with dental x‑ray installation underway
- Digital x‑ray
- Ultrasound
- Endoscopy
- In‑house laboratory
- Separate sterilisation room
- Eight consulting rooms, including a dedicated, peaceful end‑of‑life consultation room
