Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant childcare team. The successful candidate will be passionate about early childhood education and committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills whilst working closely with children to support their developmental needs. The position is paid and suitable for individuals with a strong background in childcare, nursery experience, and a genuine interest in early years education.

Level 2's welcome, if happy to work towards her level 3.

Duties

  • Supervise and support children during play, mealtimes, and daily routines to ensure their safety and wellbeing
  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages children's independence and confidence
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • Lead and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure high‑quality care delivery
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns
  • Organise resources and maintain the cleanliness of the nursery environment to meet health and safety standards
  • Contribute to the planning of nursery activities, outings, and special events

Requirements

  • Proven experience working within a nursery or early childhood setting
  • Hold a recognised Level 3 Childcare qualification or equivalent
  • Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of child development principles and early years education practices
  • Ability to work effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and external agencies
  • Valid driving licence is desirable for transporting children or attending off‑site activities
  • Passionate about childcare with a caring attitude towards young children
  • Organised, proactive, with good time‑management skills
