Head Cook in Bexhill-on-Sea

Ambleside Care Home in Bexhill is looking for an experienced and passionate Head Cook to join our team.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in preparing delicious, nutritious meals and understands the importance of providing high-quality food for residents in a care home setting.

The Role

As Head Cook, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the kitchen and ensuring residents receive tasty, nutritious meals that meet their individual dietary needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and cooking fresh, nutritious meals for residents.
• Planning and preparing menus that offer variety and meet residents' nutritional needs.
• Managing dietary requirements, food allergies and allergens.
• Preparing pureed and modified-texture meals where required.
• Completing regular stock checks and ensuring ingredients are available.
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and kitchen safety.
• Working closely with the care team to ensure residents' individual dietary needs are met.
• Ensuring meals are prepared and served to a high standard.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience working as a Cook in a care home is essential.
• Experience with menu planning and preparing meals for older people.
• Good knowledge of dietary requirements and food allergens.
• Experience preparing pureed food and modified-texture diets.
• Strong organisation skills, including stock management.
• A passion for cooking and providing excellent food.
• Dementia care experience is desirable.

What We Offer

• £14.00 per hour
• Monday to Friday, 7:30am–5:30pm.
