Are you a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant looking for a rewarding role within a small, friendly care home where you can really make a difference? We are recruiting Healthcare Assistants to join a well-established, family-owned residential care service in Allendale, Northumberland. With over 30 years of experience, this stand-alone home provides specialist residential care for adults with learning disabilities and complex needs, supporting just 13 residents in a warm, homely environment. Working in a smaller service allows you to build meaningful relationships with residents, provide truly person-centred care, and become part of a supportive and close-knit team.

Shift Pattern

  • This is a full-time role averaging 35 hours per week, working a rolling rota of:
  • Week 1: 3 shifts
  • Week 2: 2 shifts

Day Shift: 8:00am – 6:00pm

Night Shift: 6:00pm – 8:00pm (evening support)

Sleep-in: 10:00pm – 5:00am

During night shifts, you will also complete approximately 1–2 hours of cleaning duties to help maintain the home's high standards of cleanliness and comfort.

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred care
  • Support residents with personal care and daily living activities
  • Promote dignity, independence, and choice
  • Provide emotional support and companionship
  • Assist with mobility and wellbeing
  • Maintain accurate care records
  • Encourage participation in activities and social interaction
  • Complete light housekeeping and approximately 1–2 hours of cleaning during night shifts to ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience in a care setting is preferred
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) is desirable
  • A caring, patient, and professional approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting adults with learning disabilities
