Join our team as a Specialist Speech & Language Therapist focused on Paediatric Dysphagia, located in the charming Bronllys, Powys. This exciting locum opportunity is to earn up to £35.00 per hour on a part-time basis for just 1 day per week over 10 months. What you will do
- Conduct specialist paediatric dysphagia assessments.
- Independently manage a paediatric dysphagia caseload.
- Assess and provide treatment for infants and children with feeding and swallowing difficulties.
- Develop, review and implement dysphagia management plans.
- Offer specialist recommendations to families and carers to improve patient outcomes.
- Deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to each child's needs.
- Monitor treatment outcomes and adjust plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and partner services to ensure holistic care.
- Maintain meticulous clinical records and prepare detailed reports.
- Support the development and implementation of safe feeding and swallowing pathways.
Requirements
- Possess a Degree or Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy with current HCPC registration.
- Demonstrated specialist experience in paediatric dysphagia.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own caseload effectively.
- Competence in managing dysphagia for children from infancy through older childhood.
- Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and report-writing skills.
- Own transportation is essential to engage fully with community visits.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience in community paediatrics is advantageous.
- Prior experience working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated history of supporting complex feeding and swallowing needs.
