What you will do:
- Provide advanced respiratory physiotherapy interventions, focusing on optimising respiratory function and promoting person-centred care.
- Ensure interventions meet the highest standards of safety and adhere to HCPC and CSP guidelines.
- Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes, informing and enhancing care delivery.
- Serve as the respiratory clinical lead, offering leadership and guidance to the wider team.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
- Play a key role in staff development, delivering training and support to colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with CQC requirements and national safety standards.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, provide advanced tracheostomy care, and optimise ventilator settings.
- Develop personalised respiratory care plans and coordinate with nursing, medical, and care teams.
- Educate residents and families about respiratory conditions and care plans.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and lead audits and service development.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Demonstrable experience managing tracheostomies and ventilation, with strong decision‑making skills in complex cases.
- Competence in respiratory management, including manual techniques and emergency response.
- Capability to assess breath sounds, secretion load, and ventilator dependency.
- Excellent communication skills with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Registration as a Physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council.
- A BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy or equivalent recognised qualification.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Physiotherapist, with exposure to tracheostomy and ventilation support.
