What you will do:
- Perform diagnostic Haematology laboratory testing to ensure accurate results and patient safety.
- Conduct Blood Transfusion laboratory testing and investigations to support critical care services.
- Participate in the provision of safe and effective transfusion services, contributing to patient care.
- Validate and report laboratory results with precision and accuracy.
- Operate and maintain laboratory analysers and other essential equipment.
- Engage in quality assurance and quality control procedures to uphold laboratory standards.
- Support blood product management and traceability processes, ensuring compliance and safety.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation, supporting efficient lab operations.
- Comply with UKAS, MHRA, and laboratory standards to maintain excellence in lab practices.
- Participate in the laboratory on-call service to provide 24‑hour support and service.
Requirements:
- Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent experience.
- HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
- Experience in Haematology and Blood Transfusion laboratories.
- Competency in relevant laboratory techniques is essential.
- NHS laboratory experience, with ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the capacity to participate in an on‑call rota.
