Vehicle JOB OVERVIEW This is a rewarding opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to deliver person-centred Health MOTs for adults aged 18 and over. Working in workplace, community and mobile settings across Oxfordshire, the Healthcare Assistant will carry out clinical measurements, health and wellbeing assessments, brief interventions, health promotion, signposting and assisted self-referral. Once trained and signed off as competent, the Healthcare Assistant will manage routine Health MOT activity independently within approved procedures, referral pathways and escalation protocols, with remote medical consultation available for exceptional clinical escalation. Our experienced and qualified medically led team work closely with you to achieve great results. DUTIES Your duties as the Healthcare Assistant include: Health MOT Delivery:

Explain the Health MOT process, privacy arrangements and obtain appropriate consent Clinical Measurements:

Undertake and accurately record blood pressure, height, weight, BMI, waist circumference and waist-to-height ratio assessments Assessment Tools:

Administer, score and record approved health assessment tools and questionnaires, including alcohol, smoking status, physical activity and mental wellbeing assessments Brief Interventions:

Provide Smoking Very Brief Advice, Alcohol Identification and Brief Advice and Making Every Contact Count interventions Results and Guidance:

Explain results clearly and provide appropriate lifestyle information to participants Escalation Pathways:

Identify abnormal findings and follow approved pharmacy, GP, urgent-care or emergency escalation pathways Health and Wellbeing Support:

Discuss additional needs where appropriate, including drug use, sexual health, domestic abuse, housing and financial wellbeing Safeguarding:

Recognise and appropriately escalate safeguarding and mental-health concerns Signposting:

Provide signposting or assisted self-referral to appropriate Oxfordshire health and wellbeing services Service Records:

Record service data accurately and contemporaneously using the approved data system Compliance:

Maintain confidentiality and comply with Data Protection, safeguarding, infection-control and Health & Safety requirements Equipment:

Use and maintain clinical equipment safely Development:

Participate in supervision, audit, competency review and continuing professional development CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL Relevant Level 3 healthcare qualification, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support, Level 3 Healthcare Support Worker qualification, Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent relevant healthcare qualification or demonstrable equivalent experience Previous experience in healthcare, health promotion or a related field Experience working directly with patients, service users or members of the public Experience undertaking or supporting clinical observations or health assessments Ability to communicate sensitively about health and wellbeing Ability to work independently within defined protocols Good understanding of confidentiality, professional boundaries and safeguarding Accurate record keeping and confidence using digital systems Full, valid UK driving licence, with the ability to drive the Health MOT service van / mobile unit to workplace and community sites across Oxfordshire Willingness to complete role-specific training and demonstrate practical competence before undertaking Health MOTs independently DESIRABLE Previous Healthcare Assistant or Healthcare Support Worker experience Community, occupational or public-health experience Experience undertaking blood pressure, height, weight and BMI measurements Experience delivering health-promotion or behaviour-change interventions Knowledge of Oxfordshire health and wellbeing services BENEFITS Joining Healthium Clinics means becoming part of an award-winning, forward-thinking healthcare organisation that is continuing to grow, innovate and expand its services.
