About the Role
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Medicines Management / Pharmacy Technician to join a well-established Primary Care Network (PCN) team in West Somerset. Working as part of a friendly and forward-thinking pharmacy team, you’ll help improve medicines safety, support GPs and clinicians, and enhance the quality of patient care across several practices in the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Support medicines reconciliation to improve continuity of care for patients.
- Handle prescription and medication-related queries from patients and healthcare professionals.
- Assist in improving medicines management in care homes.
- Participate in audits, patient safety initiatives, and quality improvement projects.
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary team including pharmacists, GPs, social prescribers, care coordinators, and allied health professionals.
- Undertake the CPPE Pharmacy Technician in General Practice Training Pathway as part of professional development.
About You
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent qualification.
- Practical experience as a pharmacy technician in primary care, community, or hospital settings.
- Confident using clinical systems and managing prescription processes.
- Experience working within GP practices or care homes.
- Strong understanding of clinical governance and medicines optimisation.

- Strong organisational ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- IT literate with good problem-solving skills.
