Safeguarding Lead for Children & Children Looked After (CLA) – Permanent, 30hrs/wk
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Quality Team for the role of Safeguarding Lead for Children and Children Looked After (CLA) on a part‑time, permanent basis (30hrs/week). Working with the Quality Team, the Safeguarding Lead will be instrumental in promoting a high‑quality service to safeguard service users in our care.
The role specialises in Safeguarding Children & Children Looked After (CLA) while maintaining joint working with the Safeguarding Lead for Adults and ensuring the overall workload is managed equitably.
About The Role
- Raising the profile of safeguarding, domestic abuse, Children’s Act 1989/2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023 and the Care Act 2014 across HealthHero.
- Providing effective and appropriate support and specialist advice to multi‑professional staff, patients and carers following a suspicion of or disclosure of abuse and/or neglect.
- Assisting staff with day‑to‑day safeguarding and domestic abuse issues in a consultative and advisory capacity.
- Conveying and presenting highly complex and sensitive information written and verbally, formally and informally as appropriate.
- Collaborating with named professionals, partner agencies and Safeguarding Partnerships to develop robust evidence‑based policies and procedures supporting key government legislation in relation to safeguarding, domestic abuse, the Children’s Act and the Care Act.
- Working as an effective resource to teams to provide safeguarding supervision for staff members involved in safeguarding cases.
- Implementing a company‑wide training strategy and delivering safeguarding training across the organisation, including induction.
About You
Working as part of the Quality Team you will be responsible for developing, reviewing and updating robust internal safeguarding policies and standard operating procedures for adults and children.
- Key safeguarding legislation.
- Mental health law with regard to MHA 2007 and MCA 2005.
- Care Act 2014.
- Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023.
- Intercollegiate Safeguarding Training Guidance.
- Procedures and investigations required in the maltreatment of service users.
- Adults, Children and Children Looked After quarterly and annual reporting schedules.
- PIPOT and DOFA pathways.
- Practice review processes.
Our ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and an ability to share and apply best practice and knowledge in safeguarding, including information governance, confidentiality and consent.
