Overview
Operational Team Lead β Full-time, Permanent (Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin)
As a STW Operational Team Lead within the healthcare sector, you will join our forward-thinking Urgent Care Team. This is a permanent, full-time position based from our regional Head Office in Telford. You will work closely with the Assistant Operations Manager to support all members of the Urgent Care Team in delivering a high-quality 24/7 service to patients and service users across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin (STW).
You will play an advisory role in recruitment, induction, and training, and provide proactive ongoing support to the team. You will ensure agreed working practices are adhered to consistently and, where appropriate, keep the team updated on operational and organisational developments. This role requires a blend of weekend work and overnight shifts within an operational four-week rolling rota, with set hours.
Responsibilities
- Supporting and supervising all members of the Urgent Care team in delivering a high-quality service
- Guiding and advising health and social care professionals through the process of achieving the required outcomes for their patients/clients
- Liaising with allied health and social care agencies to facilitate the patient/client journey through the HealthHero Integrated Care service or direction to appropriate alternative service
- Supervising operational teams and acting as the first point of reference to resolve issues that may occur during the shift
- Coordinating the resources available on shift to ensure a consistent and high level of service is maintained
About You
- Work autonomously and possess the knowledge and intuition to assist both external and internal stakeholders in achieving the appropriate outcome
- Remain calm and focused on service delivery at all times, especially during unpredictable workloads
- Maintain a good working knowledge of key HealthHero Integrated Care policies and procedures relating specifically to the service and ensure the team adheres to procedures
- Communicate with all stakeholders confidently, knowledgeably and courteously at all times

Our Integrated Urgent Care (IUC) is a service offered to patients registered with a General Practitioner within the Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, and Wiltshire Integrated Care System. We will commence our Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin services on 1 October 2025, including GP Out of Hours and Care Coordination Services.
