As a result of continued growth, HealthHero are seeking to recruit one Urgent Care Assistant to undertake driving, receptionist and base duties to support the delivery of Integrated Urgent Care services across Wiltshire, Swindon and Bath and North East Somerset on a part-time, permanent basis.
Main duties of the job include:
- Undertaking a dual role of driving and reception work to support the efficient operation of Integrated Urgent Care services across the South West locality.
- Working varied shift patterns, including weekday evenings, weekend work, and some overnight sessions (23.00-8.00).
- Providing non-clinical support to clinicians and patients who use the NHS 111 and GP Out of Hours service.
- Driving clinicians to the patient's home in a safe and legal manner adhering to current driving regulations.
- Being the first point of contact for the patient or carer/relative in our designated Treatment Centres.
- Communicating with patients both in person and via telephone (comfort & welfare checks).
- Ensuring the Treatment Centre is kept clean and tidy.
- Using a variety of computer systems to accurately maintain stock levels of medication and consumables.
The Urgent Care Assistant role is varied and requires a flexible and resilient approach. You will be expected to undertake a broad range of duties, including periods of prolonged sitting alongside more physically demanding tasks such as moving and carrying emergency equipment and delivering CPR at floor level when required.
As part of the role, you must be comfortable working in both clinical and mobile environments, responding to the needs of the service as they arise.
Essential requirements include:
- A full UK Driving License (with no more than 6 registered penalty points) and a good level of driving experience.
- Confidently interacting with patients, relatives and carers.
- Demonstrating compassion and respect.
- Possessing excellent attention to detail and strong administration skills.
- Working confidently under pressure and acting professionally in emergency or sometimes stressful situations.
