About The Role

As the

Data Quality Administrator Team Lead , you will lead and support the Data Quality team, ensuring high standards of data accuracy, integrity, and compliance across the organisation.

You will oversee the team's day-to-day activities, monitor performance, provide coaching and development, and ensure data quality processes are consistently followed.

Working closely with operational managers and internal stakeholders, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, identify trends, resolve complex data quality issues, and ensure the team delivers accurate and timely data to support patient care and business operations.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, motivate, and support the Data Quality team, ensuring workloads are effectively managed and service levels are achieved.
  • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings, performance reviews, and coaching sessions to support individual development.
  • Monitor team productivity, quality, and performance against agreed KPIs and SLAs.
  • Allocate workloads and prioritise tasks to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
  • Oversee routine data quality audits, ensuring records are accurate, complete, and compliant with organisational and regulatory standards.
  • Review and validate audit findings, ensuring appropriate corrective actions are implemented.
  • Identify trends, recurring issues, and risks within data quality and implement preventative solutions.
  • Investigate and resolve complex data quality issues, escalating significant concerns where appropriate.
  • Produce and present regular management reports on data quality performance, audit outcomes, team productivity, and improvement initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with operational teams to improve data capture processes and maintain high-quality information across clinical and operational systems.
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, Caldicott Principles, NHS Data Security Standards, and organisational information governance policies.
  • Support internal and external audits by coordinating responses, preparing accurate datasets, and ensuring audit readiness.
  • Develop, review, and implement data quality procedures, guidance, and best practice.
  • Deliver training and ongoing support to team members and wider departments on data quality standards and processes.
  • Act as the first point of escalation for complex data quality queries and operational issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance data accuracy, operational efficiency, and reporting capability.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal departments and external stakeholders to promote data quality best practice.

Essential

  • Previous experience in a Data Quality, Information Governance, Data Administration, or Healthcare Administration role.
  • Previous experience leading, supervising, or mentoring a team.
  • Experience carrying out data quality audits and validating large volumes of information.
  • Strong understanding of data quality principles and information governance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience producing management reports and analysing performance data.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency across Microsoft Office.
  • Experience using electronic record management or database systems.
  • Ability to coach, motivate, and develop team members.

Desirable

  • Experience working within an NHS or healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with EMIS Web, Hero Health, or other clinical systems.
  • Knowledge of NHS data quality standards and reporting requirements.
  • Experience leading quality improvement projects or service audits.
  • Understanding of clinical pathways and operational healthcare processes.
  • Experience implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiencies.
