This position focuses on delivering safe, competent respiratory care across specialty areas with emphasis on emergency, neonatal, pediatric, geriatric, and critical care support.

- Setting: Short-term acute care hospital travel assignment
- Deliver competent respiratory care per physician orders, including airway management, medication administration, and oversight of ventilator support; assist with intubation as needed.
- Monitor and adjust mechanical ventilation; interpret flow-volume and pressure-volume curves to guide clinical changes; collaborate with the physician team.
- Perform arterial blood gas draws and interpret results; assess patient status and adjust therapies accordingly.
- Assess patients across age groups (neonatal, pediatric, geriatric) and tailor respiratory interventions to individual needs and conditions.
- Document all Respiratory Care procedures accurately; update patient information and ensure timely handoffs and reporting.
- Maintain and troubleshoot cardiopulmonary equipment; uphold infection control and PPE standards; support department in-services and training of staff and students.
- Education: Graduate of a COARC-approved Respiratory Care Program with the Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential (NBRC).
- Certifications: BLS (obtain within 90 days of hire); NRP (obtain within 6 months of hire).
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of hospital-based respiratory care experience; pulmonary diagnostics preferred; cardiac diagnostics preferred.
- Licensure/Eligibility: Must be able to work in the United States; capable of meeting assignment-specific background and drug screening requirements.
- Other: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to work nights in a high-acuity hospital setting.
