The City of Doncaster Council is a confident, ambitious organisation which puts improving the life of its residents at the centre of everything we do. You have an opportunity to be part of this in the role of Health and Safety Trainer. This is a great opportunity to join the City of Doncaster’s Health, Safety and Training team.

You will work with the Corporate Safety & Training Manager, and the training team to develop and deliver the Council’s H&S strategy. The strategy aims to ensure that all staff and external partners have access to suitable, high quality and appropriate training. All training is designed to ensure compliance with legislation and with the aim of reducing risk as far as practicable for the council, schools, contractors, and the public.

The successful post holder will develop, update, and deliver comprehensive training packages for staff and external providers whilst promoting a positive culture. Our trainers deliver courses in a wide variety of topics including First Aid, Manual Handling, Risk Assessment, COSHH, Fire Safety and health related topics such as Food Safety, Nutrition and Infection Control.

The successful applicant will have significant experience of successfully developing and delivering high quality training in one or more of the topics above, along with knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation. The ability to be flexible, provide practical and creative solutions to training needs, together with experience of using PowerPoint or similar presentation media and a full driving licence are essential in this role.
