We have an exciting opportunity to join our Catering team at Sancta Maria Hospital, Swansea.
In this role you will support the Catering Team in delivering a customer-focused catering service throughout the hospital in accordance with national standards.
Responsibilities
- Order patient meals and maintain effective communication with the kitchen and nursing staff regarding dietary requirements.
- Assist with meal service and all food and drink requirements for patients on the ward.
- Maintain and replenish stock in the ward kitchen and waiting areas, ensuring equipment is cleaned and well maintained.
- Care for and safely use catering equipment.
- Ensure all catering areas are cleaned in accordance with daily, weekly, and monthly schedules.
- Ensure compliance with legislation relating to food safety and management.
- Disposal of waste in accordance with HMT waste policy.
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Assist in providing a safe environment for the safety and welfare of patients and staff by being aware of Health & Safety at work act, Fire prevention and management, Infection control, COSHH and HACCP.
Qualifications
- Good communication and customer care skills.
- Good understanding of English, written and spoken.
- Presentable and approachable.
- Flexible to changes in routine or work environment.
- Ability to work on own initiative following policies and procedures, and able to take and follow instructions to react to changing circumstances.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Food hygiene qualifications.
This position is a bank role – shifts are flexible and can be chosen based on availability.
Work schedules, methods, and procedures will be aligned with national standards for catering services.
