We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicatedCookto join our Catering Team. Working under the direction of the Lead Chef , you will help deliver a high-quality, customer-focused catering service throughout the hospital. You will play an important role in preparing nutritious, appetising meals that meet the individual dietary requirements, preferences and nutritional needs of our patients.This is a rewarding role where the food you prepare can make a genuine difference to someone's wellbeing and experience during their time with us.This post will be working 21 hours per week, this may increase to 26 hours per week
What You'll Be Doing
- Preparing, cooking and serving nutritious and well-balanced meals in line with agreed menus, standards and procedures.
- Preparing meals to meetspecial dietary requirements, individual preferences and nutritional needs.
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure patients' nutritional and dietary needs are met.
- Ensuring all food is prepared to a consistently high standard and presented correctly.
- Maintaining excellent food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with relevant legislation andHACCPrequirements.
- Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, service areas and dining room in line with daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules.
- Safely handling, maintaining and storing kitchen equipment and reporting any faults or malfunctions promptly.
- Receiving and handling deliveries, checking stock and reporting any requirements or issues to the Catering Manager or supervisor.
- Maintaining effective portion control and minimising food waste.
- Supporting a safe environment for patients and colleagues by following Health & Safety, Fire Safety, Infection Control, COSHH and HACCP procedures.
- Completing all required paperwork and records accurately.
- Attending mandatory training relevant to your role, both on and off site.
- Working as part of a supportive catering team to provide an excellent service to our patients and colleagues.
