Join the Team at Carlingford Lodge Care Home located in the picturesque port town of Warrenpoint, nestled at the head of Carlingford Lough and just five miles south of Newry. Carlingford Lodge Care Home offers a warm and supportive environment for our residents. Our home provides nursing care for 58 residents across three specialised units: General Nursing, Dementia Nursing, and General Residential. Led by our Home Manager, our professional team of nurses and carers work closely together, supported by dedicated administrative staff and ancillary teams including housekeeping, catering, and maintenance, to ensure the highest standard of care. The Role: At Healthcare Ireland, we pride ourselves on the quality of our resident care, which begins with our clinical standards. The Clinical Lead is a nursing position, responsible for the continuous improvement of person-centred care in our Homes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practice. This is a leadership role, working closely with the Home Manager, Deputy Manager, and care team to provide guidance and support on the clinical requirements of the Home. 38.5 hours/week (5.5 hours supernumerary).

The Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical support to qualified nurses.
  • Provide guidance and support around person-centred care planning and documentation.
  • Provide guidance and support around the management of medicines within the home.
  • Assess competency of qualified Nurses and develop individual plans.
  • Conduct audits within the services where required and provide detailed feedback.
  • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.

Required Criteria:

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a UK NMC Registered Nurse.
  • Previous experience in a clinical leadership role within a care home or similar residential care setting.
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements, care home standards, and best practices in elderly care.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and motivate care staff to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
  • Proficient in care planning, documentation, and medication management processes.
  • Sound judgment, problem-solving abilities, and crisis management skills.
  • Commitment to promoting dignity, autonomy, and well-being for residents.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and priorities within a dynamic care environment.
