Join the Team at Carlingford Lodge Care Home located in the picturesque port town of Warrenpoint, nestled at the head of Carlingford Lough and just five miles south of Newry. Carlingford Lodge Care Home offers a warm and supportive environment for our residents. Our home provides nursing care for 58 residents across three specialised units: General Nursing, Dementia Nursing, and General Residential. Led by our Home Manager, our professional team of nurses and carers work closely together, supported by dedicated administrative staff and ancillary teams including housekeeping, catering, and maintenance, to ensure the highest standard of care. The Role:
Each of our Homes has a Maintenance person, who is vital in ensuring the safety, comfort and well-being of residents and team members. From fixing leaky taps to organising the repair of electrical systems to maintaining the grounds and ensuring fire safety regulations are met, this is a varied role and a key member of the team. With each repair and maintenance task, you’re not just fixing things; you’re supporting the team in providing excellent care to our residents in their Home. The Maintenance person is essential in ensuring we can provide a warm, welcoming, and safe environment for our residents where they feel at home.
The Responsibilities:
- Maintains a well-decorated, safe, and comfortable environment in and outside of the Home.
- Ensures that Healthcare Ireland's minimum standards are delivered in all units.
- Identifies and reports damage, faults, and other related issues to line manager.
- Liaises with local contractors on site, as required, providing local knowledge and guidance in order that maintenance schedules can be on time.
- Deliver bloods, collect scripts and drive to suppliers when needed.
- Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.
