The Home Sir Samuel Kelly Residential Home is situated 5 miles outside Belfast in the town of Holywood. It is situated in 2-3 acres of woodland and landscaped gardens. A local family gifted the home to The Salvation Army in the 1960's. Since then it hasbeen used for the care of older people. In 1997 the home was extended to provide 32 ensuite bedrooms with small group living settings. In2020/21 the original old family home was refurbished. We can now able to provide accommodation for 56 residents.
At present the home provides care and accommodation for 56residents who are aged over 65. The upstairs is designed as a dementia suite for 30 residents. Downstairs is for older people who do not have a diagnosis of dementia but require care. Within we are able to offer end of life care for two residents. The home is divided into 6 small group living setting comprising of ensuite bedroom dining and lounge areas . There are large communal lounges, a cinema room, hairdressing room and spacious corridors, pleasantly decorated and well maintained.
The beautiful gardens are a focal point, easily accessed and well used throughout the year. We have access to a local adjoining park. On admission residents are encouraged to bring small items of furniture, pictures and photographs to personalise their room. All laundry is done on site, and rooms are cleaned daily. A hairdresser visits three times a week . Professional and medical services such as chiropody, eye tests, G.P., district nursing, physiotherapy and audiology can be requested to come into the home for any individual.
About the role:
As a Care Team Leader at Healthcare Ireland, you'll be all about professionalism, kindness, and compassion. The Care Team Leader role requires you to plan and provide high-quality care that makes our residents feel safe, respected, and independent. You will lead a team of Care Assistants, ensuring they are keeping up with the highest care standards. Keeping accurate records and communicating well with your colleagues are key parts of your role. Our Care Team Leaders also support the Home Manager and Deputy Manager, giving physical, social, and emotional care to residents. You will handle medication and make sure everything is in order with medication audits.
About The Role
Main Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, person-centred care while promoting residents dignity, independence, and wellbeing. Maintain accurate and timely care records in line with regulatory and company standards. Take responsibility for the smooth running of the home/unit during shifts and deputise for management when required. Administer and manage medication safely in accordance with company policies and national guidelines. Support, supervise, and mentor care staff, identifying training and development needs.
Assist with staff recruitment, rota planning, and attendance monitoring. Ensure residents personal care needs are met to the highest standard, including hygiene, dressing, and meal support. Promote equality, diversity, and respect for residents cultural, religious, and personal values. Maintain a safe, healthy, and infection-controlled environment, reporting any health & safety or maintenance concerns. Comply with all relevant legislation, company policies, and mandatory training requirements.
