Overview
Longfield Care Home is located on the outskirts of the village of Eglinton, ten miles from Derry. The Home offers care for 35 General Nursing residents in the Foyle and Faughan Units and 11 Residential Dementia residents in the Moore Suite. The Home has been recognised for excellence, including awards at the 2024 Staff Nursing Awards.

The Role
The role of the Domestic Assistant is essential to provide excellent care. You will support the Housekeeper with the Home environment, contributing to the wellbeing and quality of life of residents. The Domestic Assistant will ensure that the Home is clean, tidy and welcoming at all times. This role works closely with care teams and residents to create a comfortable environment where residents feel safe and cared for, including ensuring rooms are clean and communal areas are tidy.
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure the expected cleanliness and hygiene standards are achieved throughout the home
- Cover domestic duties as assigned
- Identify and report any damage, faults or other issues to maintenance or management
- Adhere to the cleaning and auditing schedule
- Use and store cleaning products in accordance with COSHH regulations
- Undertake any other duties reasonably required by the Home Manager or Housekeeper
Requirements
Required Criteria
- A good standard of both verbal and written English
- Relevant experience for the role
- The Right to Work in the UK

- Previous care home experience
- Basic knowledge of COSHH, Health and Safety and Fire Regulations
