The Home Close to all local amenities, Madelayne Court is situated in a lovely residential area within the picturesque town of Portstewart, on the stunning North Antrim coast. This safe and spacious setting provides professional, person-centred care for up to 66 people, specialising in residential, dementia and nursing care for those over the age of 65. Not only does our 24 hour care and nursing team provide kind and compassionate, individualised care, we also offer good company and helpful support, in a calm and restful atmosphere. Residents feel safe, comfortable and part of a relaxed community at Madelayne Court. All our private, light and spacious bedrooms are fully-furnished and have the benefit of en-suite bathroom facilities. Residents are very welcome to bring their own home accessories and furniture, to personalise their space with their own familiar items to make it their home. The home also has excellent amenities, all fully designed to cater for people living with dementia, including a café, comfortable lounges and dining spaces, enabling residents to maintain their independence within the safest possible environment.
About the role: As a Care Team Leader at Healthcare Ireland, you'll be all about professionalism, kindness, and compassion. The Care Team Leader role requires you to plan and provide high-quality care that makes our residents feel safe, respected, and independent. You will lead a team of Care Assistants, ensuring they are keeping up with the highest care standards. Keeping accurate records and communicating well with your colleagues are key parts of your role. Our Care Team Leaders also support the Home Manager and Deputy Manager, giving physical, social, and emotional care to residents. You will handle medication and make sure everything is in order with medication audits.
Main Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care while promoting residents dignity, independence, and wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate and timely care records in line with regulatory and company standards.
- Take responsibility for the smooth running of the home/unit during shifts and deputise for management when required.
- Administer and manage medication safely in accordance with company policies and national guidelines.
- Support, supervise, and mentor care staff, identifying training and development needs.
- Assist with staff recruitment, rota planning, and attendance monitoring.
- Ensure residents personal care needs are met to the highest standard, including hygiene, dressing, and meal support.
- Promote equality, diversity, and respect for residents cultural, religious, and personal values.
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and infection-controlled environment, reporting any health issues.
