The Home
Nightingale Care Home is situated in the scenic area of Dungannon overlooking the beautiful Black Lough. We are within walking distance of the main Ulster Bus Depo in Dungannon which allows for great access to the home and easy access to and from the motorway. Nightingale has 34 General Nursing beds and 10 General Residential beds. Our main purpose here at Nightingale is to ensure that the highest quality of care is provided for everyone’s individual needs. Our motto is: ‘May all who enter as guests leave as friends’.
The Role
Care Assistants at Healthcare Ireland play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of our Homes, providing essential support and assistance to Residents to ensure their wellbeing and comfort. Care Assistants are part of our frontline team, responsible for delivering personalised care and assistance with activities of daily living.
Our Care Assistants also provide emotional support and companionship to Residents, fostering meaningful relationships and promoting a sense of compassion, and advocacy for Residents rights and preferences.
Collaborating with Nurses, Wellbeing team, families and external healthcare professionals to ensure holistic and person-centred care, Care Assistants are essential in our mission to provide excellent care.
About The Role
Main Responsibilities
- Assist qualified staff with care plans, tasks and activities to support the wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents
- Participate in activities, motivating and supporting residents to get involved
- Assist residents with eating, drinking, washing, dressing and going to the toilet
- Assess and observe the emotional and physical wellbeing of residents, recognising changes and reporting as necessary in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records, communicating effectively with residents and their families
- Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager

Required Criteria
- To be a good listener, showing patience, compassion, empathy and understanding
- A good standard of written and oral English
- The Right to Work in the UK
- Be NISCC registered or eligible to register
Desired Criteria
- Qualifications in Health and Social Care or equivalent
- Previous experience within a care setting
- Educated to NVQ 2 level is desirable
