Join Our Team at Dunlarg Care Home. Situated in the tranquil countryside of Keady village, County Armagh, Dunlarg Care Home offers a welcoming and supportive environment with easy access to local shops and public transport. Our home comprises two units, providing care for up to 58 residents. We offer a broad range of care services including General Nursing and General Residential Care, with specialised support for individuals with Learning Disabilities, Mental Health needs, and Physical Disabilities under 65. At Dunlarg, every new resident receives a warm welcome and is encouraged to embrace their home away from home experience. The Role

The General Assistant role at Healthcare Ireland is a blended role, working with the Housekeeping and Kitchen team to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Home. The General Assistants in our Homes play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our kitchens, housekeeping and laundry functions, ensuring that residents receive high-quality meals and have a clean environment. The role is essential in the wellbeing of our residents through the provision of high-quality, person-centred surroundings. Working as part of the Kitchen and Housekeeping team, reporting to the Housekeeper and Chef, the role is about a lot more than preparing and serving meals and cleaning; the General Assistant will support with ensuring the dietary needs of our residents are met in addition to contributing to a clean and tidy environment for our residents.

About The Role

  • Ensure the expected standards are achieved throughout the home
  • Cover domestic, kitchen and laundry duties; training in all 3 areas provided
  • Identify and report any damage, faults or other issues to maintenance or management
  • Adhere to the cleaning and auditing schedule
  • Use and store cleaning products in accordance to COSHH regulations
  • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.

Required Criteria

  • To be numerate and literate with a good standard of English
  • The Right to Work in the UK
  • Have basic knowledge of COSHH, Health and Safety, Fire and Security Regulations
  • Previous experience in relevant role

  • Relevant work experience in a care home/ healthcare environment
  • Previous experience gained in a domestic, laundry or kitchen environment
