The Home Orchard Lodge is a wonderfully positioned, purpose-built residential care and nursing home in Armagh. Our home benefits from views of the two local cathedrals and the surrounding city from most of the bedrooms, main lounges and all dining rooms. Here at Orchard Lodge, we offer professional, person-centred residential and nursing care, as well as specialist care for those living with dementia. We are also registered to provide care for young people with physical disabilities. All our private, light and spacious bedrooms are fully-furnished, with the benefit of en-suite facilities. Residents are very welcome to bring their own home accessories and furniture, to personalise their space and make it their home. Our facilities are designed to enable residents to be as independent as possible, with the assistance of 24 hour care. The role of Activity Co-Ordinator involves providing a schedule of engaging pursuits that create a supportive environment where residents can thrive. The Activity Co-Ordinator will contribute to the planning, organising and facilitation of recreational and therapeutic activities for residents in our Homes. The Activity Co-Ordinator will work closely with the care team, families, resident and external partners to develop and implement a wide range of activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our residents. 36 hours/week About The Role Main Responsibilities Preparing, planning and delivering group and individual recreational and occupational activities, observing, recording and reporting resident response. Engage with residents in one-on-one or group activities, such as games, crafts, music, exercise, outings and social events based on their interest and preferences. Setting up and organising of activity areas, including gathering supplies, arranging furniture and displaying materials. Ensure the effective, timely and accurate updating of records, case files and computerised information systems. Stay informed about best practices and trends in wellbeing and activities for residents. Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager. Required Criteria Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with a good standard of written and verbal English Well-developed communication, observational and active listening skills.
