Carlisle Court is a wonderfully positioned, purpose built residential care home in County Antrim, Belfast. Our beautifully refurbished home operates independently to the nursing home, City View Court. The home benefits from 60 en-suite bedrooms, complemented by a range of enclosed gardens and courtyards.

Here at Carlisle Court, we offer professional, person-centred residential care that focuses on betterment, rehabilitation and maximum independence. The home has an array of communal spaces, including large lounges, well-positioned dining areas and access to kitchenettes and quiet spaces. Residents are welcome to bring their own home accessories and furniture to personalise their space. Our facilities are designed to enable residents to be as independent as possible with the assistance of 24-hour care.

With views stretching across the North of the city, Carlisle Court is positioned right in the heart of North and West Belfast and aims to ensure residents remain part of the wider community, with a focus on occupational activity, volunteering and partnership.

The Role

You will pride yourself on providing high-quality, person-centred care to our residents, fostering a welcoming environment where residents are treated with respect and dignity, and staff feel valued and supported. As part of our frontline team, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the Home, assisting with activities of daily living ensuring the wellbeing and comfort of residents. As a Care Assistant, you will also provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering meaningful relationships and promoting a sense of compassion; an advocacy for the rights and preferences of our residents.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily living activities, such as dressing, bathing, eating, and mobility.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, helping them maintain a good quality of life.
  • Help residents maintain independence where possible, encouraging involvement in activities.
  • Assist with moving and handling residents using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Support the nursing and healthcare team by monitoring residents' well-being and reporting any changes in their health or behaviour.
  • Follow care plans tailored to individual residents' needs, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and homely environment for residents.

  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A good standard of oral and written English.
  • A non-judgemental approach to others.
  • Excellent communication skills with the compassion required to deliver high-quality care to our residents.
  • Respectful to not only residents but the values and beliefs of other team members.

Desired Criteria

  • Educated to QCF/ NVQ Level 2 is desirable, but not essential.
  • Previous experience in Health and Social Care preferred, although not essential as full training will be provided.
