Join the Team at Carlingford Lodge Care Home located in the picturesque port town of Warrenpoint, nestled at the head of Carlingford Lough and just five miles south of Newry. Carlingford Lodge Care Home offers a warm and supportive environment for our residents. Our home provides nursing care for 58 residents across three specialised units: General Nursing, Dementia Nursing, and General Residential. Led by our Home Manager, our professional team of nurses and carers work closely together, supported by dedicated administrative staff and ancillary teams including housekeeping, catering, and maintenance, to ensure the highest standard of care. The Kitchen Assistants in our Homes play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our kitchens, ensuring that residents receive high quality meals and dining experiences. The role is essential to the wellbeing of our residents through the provision of high-quality, person-centred dining experiences. Working as part of the Kitchen team, reporting to the Chef, the role involves supporting with ensuring the dietary needs of our residents are met in addition to contributing to a safe and positive working environment.
18 Hours/week
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensures that all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for in accordance with the company’s Assured Safe Catering standards.
- Delivers meals and other catering supplies to various areas within the unit in a timely and efficient manner.
- Under direction, assists with the basic preparation of food items.
- Ensures all cleaning within the kitchen, catering and servery areas (as appropriate) is completed and complies with the company’s Assured Safe Catering standards.
- Delivers and maintains a clean and tidy environment throughout the home, in line with operational standards and ensures that work processes comply with statutory regulations.
- Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Chef or Cook.
