The Home Carlingford Lodge Care Home is situated in the beautiful port town of Warrenpoint, located at the head of Carlingford Lough, just five miles south from the city of Newry. It provides nursing care for 58 residents over 3 Units: General Nursing, Dementia Nursing and a General Residential.
The Home Manager welcomes the residents with her team of professional nurses and carers aided by an administrator and ancillary support from housekeeping, catering and maintenance personnel. You will pride yourself on providing high-quality, person-centred care to our residents, fostering a welcoming environment where residents are treated with respect and dignity, and staff feel valued and supported.
As part of our frontline team, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the Home, assisting with activities of daily living ensuring the wellbeing and comfort of residents. As a Care Assistant, you will also provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering meaningful relationships and promoting a sense of compassion:
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, helping them maintain a good quality of life.
- Help residents maintain independence where possible, encouraging involvement in activities.
- Support the nursing and healthcare team by monitoring residents' well-being and reporting any changes in their health or behaviour.
- Follow care plans tailored to individual residents' needs, ensuring their comfort and safety.

This role is for Twilight shifts. Shift pattern: 4.30pm - 10.30pm. We do not offer sponsorship for this role. Healthcare Ireland are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons.
A good standard of oral and written English. Excellent communication skills with the compassion required to deliver high-quality care to our residents.
Desired Criteria:
- Educated to QCF/ NVQ Level 2 is desirable, but not essential.
- Previous experience in Health and Social Care preferred, although not essential as full training will be provided.
