Make a Difference at Ardmaine Care Home. Located just minutes from the heart of Newry, Ardmaine Care Home is a warm, welcoming environment where compassionate care comes first. Our home features two dedicated units: General Nursing and Dementia Nursing, each designed to provide exceptional support tailored to individual needs. We care for older adults and those living with a range of conditions, including Dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, Cancer, Stroke, Epilepsy, Visual Impairments, and Challenging Behaviours. Our services also include End of Life Care and Respite Support.

The Role
At Healthcare Ireland we are committed to enhancing the quality of life for our residents by providing engaging activities and wellbeing initiatives that promote physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. The role of Activity Co-Ordinator involves providing a schedule of engaging pursuits that create a supportive environment where residents can thrive. The Activity Co-Ordinator will contribute to the planning, organising and facilitation of recreational and therapeutic activities for residents in our Homes. The Activity Co-Ordinator will work closely with the care team, families, residents and external partners to develop and implement a wide range of activities that cater to the diverse interests and abilities of our residents.
40 hours/week
Main Responsibilities
- Preparing, planning and delivering group and individual recreational and occupational activities, observing, recording and reporting resident response.
- Engage with residents in one-on-one or group activities, such as games, crafts, music, exercise, outings and social events based on their interest and preferences.
- Setting up and organising of activity areas, including gathering supplies, arranging furniture and displaying materials.
- Ensure the effective, timely and accurate updating of records, case files and computerised information systems.
- Stay informed about best practices and trends in wellbeing and activities for residents.
- Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.

- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with a good standard of written and verbal English
- Well-developed communication, observational and active listening skills.
- Experience in related field
