Rosevale Lodge is divided into two dedicated units: Dementia Nursing and Dementia Residential, ensuring tailored, person-centred care that meets a wide range of needs. The Role The General Assistant role at Healthcare Ireland is a blended role, working with the Housekeeping and Kitchen team to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Home. The General Assistants in our Homes play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our kitchens, housekeeping and laundry functions, ensuring that residents receive high-quality meals and have a clean environment. The role is essential in the wellbeing of our residents through the provision of high-quality, person-centred surroundings. Working as part of the Kitchen and Housekeeping team, reporting to the Housekeeper and Chef, the role is about a lot more than preparing and serving meals and cleaning; the General Assistant will support with ensuring the dietary needs of our residents are met in addition to contributing to a clean and tidy environment for our residents.

About The Role Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the expected standards are achieved throughout the home
  • Cover domestic, kitchen and laundry duties; training in all 3 areas provided
  • Identify and report any damage, faults or other issues to maintenance or management
  • Adhere to the cleaning and auditing schedule
  • Use and store cleaning products in accordance to COSHH regulations
  • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.

Required Criteria:

  • To be numerate and literate with a good standard of English
  • The Right to Work in the UK
  • Have basic knowledge of COSHH, Health and Safety, Fire and Security Regulations
  • Previous experience in relevant role

  • Relevant work experience in a care home/ healthcare environment
  • Previous experience gained in a domestic, laundry or kitchen environment
