The Home Weavers House is a modern, purpose built care home situated in Cookstown, overlooking the beautiful Sperrin Mountains. This light and spacious setting provides professional, person-centred care for older people, including those living with dementia. Our accommodation offers a safe and homely environment, where up to 65 residents each receive kind and compassionate attention around the clock. Our whole team approach to wellbeing means that everybody feels part of our lovely, welcoming community. All our private bedrooms are fully-furnished, with the benefit of en-suite facilities. Residents are very welcome to bring their own home accessories and furniture, to personalise their space and make it their home.

The Kitchen Assistants in our Homes play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our kitchens, ensuring that residents receive high quality meals and dining experiences. The role is essential to the wellbeing of our residents through the provision of high-quality, person-centred dining experiences. Working as part of the Kitchen team, reporting to the Chef, the role is about a lot more than preparing and serving meals; the Kitchen Assistant will support with ensuring the dietary needs of our residents are met in addition to contributing to a safe and positive working environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for in accordance with the company’s Assured Safe Catering standards.
  • Delivers meals and other catering supplies to various areas within the unit in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Under direction, assists with the basic preparation of food items.
  • Ensures all cleaning within the kitchen, catering and servery areas (as appropriate) is completed and complies with the company’s Assured Safe Catering standards.
