Carlisle Court is a wonderfully positioned, purpose built residential care home in County Antrim, Belfast. Our new beautifully refurbished home will operate independently to the nursing home, City View Court. The home benefits from beautiful 60 en-suite bedrooms, complemented by a range of enclosed gardens and courtyards. Here at Carlisle Court, we offer professional, person-centred residential care that focuses on betterment, rehabilitation and maximum independence. The home has an array of communal spaces, including large lounges, well-positioned dining areas and access to kitchenettes and quiet spaces. Residents are very welcome to bring their own home accessories and furniture, to personalise their space and make it their home. Our facilities are designed to enable residents to be as independent as possible with the assistance of 24-hour care. With views stretching across the North of the city, Carlisle Court is positioned right in the heart of North and West Belfast and will aim to ensure residents remain part of the wider community, with a focus on occupational activity, volunteering and partnership.
This is a part time role for 24hrs. We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and sociable Activities Coordinator to join our team. Your primary responsibility as an Activities Coordinator will involve creating and executing engaging activities tailored to each of our residents. Additionally, you will be responsible for mentoring and training our staff on how to interact and engage with residents, ensuring that every day is filled with special moments. Your role will involve ensuring that residents' dignity and self-esteem are upheld through meaningful interactions, positive relationships, and the freedom to express their individuality.
Main Responsibilities:
- Preparing, planning and delivering group and individual recreational and occupational activities, observing, recording and reporting resident response.
- Engage with residents in one-on-one or group activities, such as games, crafts, music, exercise, outings and social events based on their interest and preferences.
- Setting up and organising of activity areas, including gathering supplies, arranging furniture and displaying materials.
- Ensure the effective, timely and accurate updating of records, case files and computerised information systems.
- Stay informed about best practices and trends in wellbeing and activities for residents.
- Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.

About you:
We are looking for an Activities Coordinator with a positive, forward-thinking attitude who can inspire and lead others. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must, and experience in a care home setting is a plus. Previous experience in organising activities or leading groups is also beneficial. You should be assertive yet flexible in your approach. We've found that successful Activities Coordinators come from diverse backgrounds.
Required Criteria:
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with a good standard of written and verbal English
- Well-developed communication, observational and active listening skills.
- Experience in related field
- The Right to Work in the UK

- At least 2 years experience working in a regulated care or support environment
