Join the Team at Bannview House Nursing Home. Bannview House is a contemporary, purpose-built nursing home that provides high-quality care and support for up to 80 residents. Thoughtfully designed with comfort and dignity in mind, the home features individual bedrooms with ensuite facilities, spacious lounges, and welcoming dining areas. Set against a beautiful rural backdrop, many rooms offer stunning countryside views. Residents also enjoy access to our secure, landscaped gardens and patio area - a peaceful space to relax and spend time outdoors. The home is organised into three specialist units, delivering tailored care across General Nursing, Dementia Nursing, and General Residential needs. The Role: This role is for 22.5 hours per week, which is 3 shifts per week. The Kitchen Assistants in our Homes play a key role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our kitchens, ensuring that residents receive high quality meals and dining experiences. The role is essential to the wellbeing of our residents through the provision of high-quality, person-centred dining experiences. Working as part of the Kitchen team, reporting to the Chef, the role is about a lot more than preparing and serving meals - the Kitchen Assistant will support with ensuring the dietary needs of our residents are met in addition to contributing to a safe and positive working environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that all catering stock and equipment is correctly stored and accounted for in accordance with the company’s Assured Safe Catering standards.
  • Delivers meals and other catering supplies to various areas within the unit in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Under direction, assists with the basic preparation of food items.
  • Ensures all cleaning within the kitchen, catering and servery areas (as appropriate) is completed and complies with the company’s Assured Safe Catering standards.
  • Delivers and maintains a clean and tidy environment throughout the home, in line with operational standards and ensures that work processes comply with statutory regulations.
  • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Chef or Cook.
