The Home Antrim Care Home, situated in the local countryside at Dunsilly, is perfectly located just outside Antrim Town. The Home offers general Nursing care but also includes a specialist Intermediary Care unit where people can come directly from hospital when they are not quite ready for home. Services such as physiotherapy and occupational therapy can then be continued in readiness for home. Additionally, there is a bespoke unit which is carefully designed and with staff who are trained to meet the particular needs of people living with dementia. With years of experience providing nursing care and an embedded commitment to staff training, Antrim Care Home offers a high level of care, attention and confidence in the standards we set. As part of Hutchinson Care Homes, Antrim Care Home is an Investors in People Gold accredited organisation.
The Role
This role is twilight 5pm-11pm two nights per week. You will pride yourself on providing high-quality, person-centred care to our residents, fostering a welcoming environment where residents are treated with respect and dignity, and staff feel valued and supported. As part of our frontline team, you will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations of the Home, assisting with activities of daily living ensuring the wellbeing and comfort of residents. As a Care Assistant, you will also provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering meaningful relationships and promoting a sense of compassion; an advocacy for the rights and preferences of our residents.
About The Role
- Assist residents with daily living activities, such as dressing, bathing, eating, and mobility.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, helping them maintain a good quality of life.
- Help residents maintain independence where possible, encouraging involvement in activities.
- Assist with moving and handling residents using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Support the nursing and healthcare team by monitoring residents' well-being and reporting any changes in their health or behaviour.
- Follow care plans tailored to individual residents' needs, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and homely environment for residents.

- A good standard of oral and written English.

- Respectful to not only residents but the values and beliefs of other team members.
Desired Criteria
- Educated to QCF/ NVQ Level 2 is desirable, but not essential.
- Previous experience in Health and Social Care preferred, although not essential as full training will be provided.
