Activities Coordinator

Handford House, Ipswich

£12.30 per hour

Weekends Only – Saturday & Sunday 9am to 5pm

If you are kind, compassionate and committed, we would love for you to lead our Activities team in our lovely nursing home, Handford House.

Handford House provides a high standard of holistic nursing care to residents, offering a warm, friendly, comfortable and safe environment with support for personal choices and individual care at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and distributing newsletters to residents and their families, updating them on events and activities at the home.
  • Implementing a monthly calendar filled with engaging activities which may include arts and crafts, outside entertainment, themed days/nights, excursions and interactive games.
  • Collaborating with the care team to support residents’ social engagement and wellbeing.
  • Promoting the home and events across social media channels, encouraging interaction with the local community.

The role enables you to bring out your creativity, adapting activity programmes that respect individuals and enhance the home’s atmosphere. Strong communication skills, experience using social media, and good planning and organisational abilities are key requirements, along with a fun and friendly personality.

Whether you are an experienced Activities Coordinator or starting a new career, we provide full training and ongoing support, including a thorough induction and training programme within a supportive team.
