Responsible To: PCN Business Manager/Head of Communications and Engagement/Exec PA/Senior Leadership Team

Hours: 37.5 hours per week – Office based 5 days a week

HCL delivers community and primary care services and provides management and operational support to its member practices, working closely with PCNs, the NHS, local authorities, and community partners to improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities.

Role Summary

The Business Support Officer will provide high-quality administrative and organisational support to Healthcare Central London (HCL), with a particular focus on supporting Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and corporate functions. Working closely with the Executive Assistant and wider teams, the post holder will support the smooth day-to-day running of the office, coordination of meetings, communications, and stakeholder engagement. This role is well suited to someone looking to develop a career in business or office administration within a fast-paced healthcare environment, offering exposure to senior leaders, PCN activity, and the wider NHS system.

Role Requirements and Responsibilities

  • General Office and Administrative Support: Provide day-to-day administrative support to ensure the efficient running of the office, manage shared email inboxes, respond to queries professionally, answer and redirect phone calls and voicemails, maintain electronic filing systems, prepare documents, order office supplies, and ensure adherence to organisational policies.
  • Executive Assistant & Senior Leadership Support: Provide direct administrative support to the Executive Assistant and senior staff, support diary coordination, prepare meeting papers, attend meetings and take minutes, produce action logs, and coordinate meeting logistics.
  • PCN and Corporate Team Support: Provide administrative support for PCN-related activities, liaise with GP practices and stakeholders, assist with maintaining databases, and support data collection.
  • Communications and Engagement: Support internal and external communications, assist with drafting emails and newsletters, maintain contact lists, and coordinate the production of organisational communications.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an office or administrative role
  • Ability to take accurate, well-structured meeting minutes
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Professional, polite, and helpful approach
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
  • Discreet and able to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Willingness to learn and take direction

Desirable

  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience within a healthcare, NHS, or PCN environment
