About the Team: Join the EMEA Business Development Team, responsible for promoting the Medidata portfolio directly to our customers. Reporting to the Business Development Management team, you will help identify new potential customers or unexplored markets in a focused portfolio set. Working with a diverse team of Demand Marketing, Account Executives and Product Specialists to create net new pipeline and qualify marketing generated pipeline to drive increases in business for Medidata Solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate client demand exists with a business development strategy to build the pipeline of business within our UK and European speaking Sales territories.
- Demonstrate a strong BANT evaluation plan with clear strategies to draw out answers effectively to qualify identified opportunities.
- Build relationships with new and existing contacts specific to your territory to generate demand for a specific Medidata portfolio, research and exploration of a prospects core challenges.
- Have a solid engagement-to-delivery ratio to grow a robust pipeline with a firm understanding of what is needed to overachieve on quota.
- Coordinate qualified opportunity handoff from the Business Development team to assigned Account Managers and product specialists.
- Take ownership of your opportunity management, identifying risks, and back everything up with data-based insights.
- Update activities completed on Salesforce and Outreach to ensure consistent accurate reporting.
- When required, participate in company-sponsored customer facing events and marketing driven campaigns designed to stimulate more brand and product awareness.
- Work through Medidata NDA agreements with internal and prospect/customer legal councils to ensure the necessary paperwork is completed.

- Organised with an ability to balance the needs of multiple internal stakeholders to show business impact on the sales pipeline.
- Passionate about the life science industry and improving the lives of patients by bringing novel therapeutics to market.
- Spanish language speaking skills - for applicable markets.
- The right person will be motivated by client engagements and seek out their challenges to provide innovative solutions.
- Enjoys communicating via multiple channels with prospective customers in an engaging manner.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognise employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
