Description

We currently have two 39-hour Support Worker positions available at our Westburn Road Service.

We are looking for people who genuinely care to join our team at our permanent care service, supportingadults with learning disabilities.

Working in social care is more than a job. The people we support rely on our staff to be consistent, respectful, reliable and committed to doing things properly.

We are looking for people who genuinely want to make a difference and who take pride in providing high-quality support.

You will be expected to:

  • Treat every person with dignity, respect and kindness.
  • Take the time to understand the individual, rather than simply completing tasks.
  • Follow support plans, risk assessments, policies and agreed ways of working.
  • Take responsibility for your actions and be accountable for the support you provide.
  • Complete records accurately and understand that good recording is an important part of safe care.
  • Speak up when something is not right and ask for help when you need it.
  • Be willing to learn, accept feedback and continually develop your practice.
  • Work reliably and contribute positively to your team.
  • Maintain professional standards, even when working without direct supervision.
  • Put the needs, rights, choices and wellbeing of the people we support at the heart of what you do.

We don't expect you to know everything when you start. We do expect you to care, to be willing to learn, and to take responsibility for doing your job well.

If you are looking for a role where you can simply complete your shift and go home, this may not be the right role for you. If you want to build positive relationships, support people to have good lives and be part of a team that takes pride in the quality of its work, we would like to hear from you.

About our service

Our service is home to 12 adults who each have their own individual needs, personalities, interests and preferences.

We believe that a person's home should feel like their home, not simply a place where they receive care. Our role is to provide the right support to help each person live a meaningful life, maintain their independence and make choices about how they spend their time.

Working in our service is about getting to know the people you support, building trusting relationships and understanding what is important to each individual.

About the role

As a Support Worker, you will be part of a team providing high-quality, person-centred support throughout the day and night.

Every day is different, and your role may include:

  • Supporting people with personal care and daily living activities.
  • Administering medication in accordance with training, support plans and Archway procedures.
  • Supporting people with eating and drinking and following individual dietary requirements.
  • Supporting mobility, transfers and the use of equipment where required.
  • Supporting people to take part in activities, hobbies and community opportunities.
  • Encouraging people to maintain and develop their independence and skills.
  • Supporting communication and enabling people to express their choices and wishes.
  • Building positive and respectful relationships with the people we support.
  • Following individual support plans, risk assessments and agreed ways of working.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and comfortable home environment.
  • Completing accurate records and communicating important information to colleagues.
  • Recognising changes in people's health, wellbeing or behaviour and responding appropriately.
  • Working positively with colleagues to provide consistent, safe and effective support.

Working in social care is a responsibility. The people we support depend on us to provide safe, respectful and consistent support every day.

We are looking for people who want to do this job because they care about people, take pride in their work and are committed to achieving the standards expected of them.

We don't expect you to know everything when you start. We do expect you to care, to learn, to take responsibility and to do your best for the people we support every day.

What we are looking for

A relevant SVQ Level 3 qualification, or willingness to work towards one, is essential.

Previous experience in social care is welcomed, but having the right attitude and values is equally important. We will provide the training and support you need to develop your skills and confidence in the role.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide sponsorship to work in the UK.

Please note: The salary displayed above is a Full-Time Equivalent based on a 39 hour week.

Benefits of working for Archway

  • Opportunities to gain on-the-job qualifications and career progression
  • Comprehensive induction and training programme
  • Ongoing support and supervision
  • Enhanced Annual Leave (5yr and 10 yr milestones)
  • Company sick pay (dependent on length of service)
