An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to join our team to undertake the role of Senior Training and Development Manager. This is a senior, strategic leadership role with national responsibility for shaping and delivering high-quality research training across Health and Care Research Wales.
The post holder will lead a coordinated, needs-driven Research Training and Development Programme, providing operational leadership to the Training & Development team and driving workforce development that strengthens research capability across Wales. The role focuses on building inclusive, impactful training pathways for researchers and research support staff, spanning mentoring, leadership development, facilitator networks, and national programmes.
Working in partnership with NHS Wales, academic institutions, professional bodies, NIHR, and Welsh Government, the post holder will provide system leadership, ensure robust governance and value for money, and embed continuous improvement through strong evaluation and performance oversight. The postholder will have a nominated base within the NHS and will have the ability to work remotely/flexibly.
