I am looking for an enthusiastic and caring individual to join a small team of lovely ladies to support me and assist with a variety of tasks to enable me to live a full, safe and happy personal and social life. I have complex needs, including a tracheostomy and feeding PEG. I would prefer a female assistant as I require help with all personal care. I have epilepsy, am registered blind and have developmental delay. Experience is preferred but full training will be provided.

I have one part time position available, for two days a week, usually being Thursday and Friday 9.00am – 4.00pm. You will be working with another employee or one of my parents at all times. I would also like the successful applicant to have flexibility to cover sickness and holidays for other team members where possible, in addition to the opportunity of additional evening and weekend shifts that may become available.

A driving licence is needed to allow me access to the community, I am fully reliant on my wheelchair at all times and I have an adapted vehicle. Please note that you will be required to push a heavy wheelchair, and provide specific moving and handling duties that although training will be provided, you will need to be physically able to complete as part of this role.

I love crafts, having massages, playing games, going out in the countryside, shopping and generally being one of the girls.

You will receive:

  • Up to £13.89 per hour when fully competent in all duties and a probation period has been completed
  • A pension if eligible
  • 5.6 weeks per year pro rata annual leave
  • Full certificated training on all aspects of the role
  • An enhanced DBS check, the cost will be met by the Employer
