I am looking for a Personal Assistant / Carer to join my son's support team. This will include at home support and in the community to further his independence. My son is 7 years old, has a brain injury, learning disability, is non-speaking, tube fed and registered blind but he does have some vision. He is a sociable little boy that always has a smile on his face. He loves Mr Tumble, bowling, swimming, floor play and running around in his walking frame. He uses a wheelchair, standing frame and walking frame on a daily basis. Everyone that meets him adores him!
This role will include supporting him in all activities, including:
- Play
- Communication
- Assisting in and out of equipment
- Personal care
- Oral/nasal suctioning
- Administering feeds and medication
You will receive:
- £12.71 per hour during your probation period, then up to £15.00 per hour
- A pension if eligible
- 5.6 weeks per year pro rata annual leave
- Full certificated training on all aspects of the role
Hours available: A minimum of 10 hours per week, worked in at least 2 x 5 hour shifts. Days of work are flexible and hours will vary around appointments. Preferred shifts are from 4pm after school during weekdays and some weekend support. There is the opportunity to work additional hours on occasions in relation to holidays and sickness.
