Role Overview
Seeking a dedicated Cardiac Cath Tech to support diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. Responsibilities include assisting Cardiologists with cardiac catheterizations, pacemaker insertions, intra-aortic balloon pump support, and Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI). You will operate and maintain specialized equipment, administer moderate sedation, and ensure patient safety and comfort.
Key Duties
- Assist with sterile techniques, set-up trays, and position patients for procedures.
- Support physician during imaging, medication, and contrast administration.
- Document cases, operate physiologic recorders, and maintain accurate patient data.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, manage inventory, and participate in quality improvements.
- Provide radiation protection and handle emergency situations, including CPR and code procedures.
- Rotate in on-call duties and contribute to patient follow-up.
Qualifications & Skills
- Effective communicator with patients, team members, and physicians.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining confidentiality.
- Creativity, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
- Certification as a Cardiovascular Technician (CVT); RT (R) or RCIS preferred.
- Associates Degree preferred; valid state license and radiation license required for fluoroscopy use.
- Certifications: ARRT-CV, BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification.
